You don’t have to travel to Batuu at the Disney Parks to enjoy the Galaxy’s Edge space coffee. Made from coffee, sweetened cream cheese mixture, and chocolate puff cereal, the cold brew black caf is a fan favorite. Follow the recipe below to make it at home and enjoy the Star Wars cold brew from Disneyland and Disney World.
How To Make the Cold Brew Black Caf From Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge
You can relive Star War: Galaxy’s Edge and make cold brew black caf at home with only a few ingredients and just a little time.
Ingredients
Sweetened Cream Cheese Foam:
- 1 1/2 tbsp Cream Cheese
- 3/4 tsp Powdered Sugar
- 1/8 cup Heaving Whipping Cream
Coffee Base:
- 12 oz Cold Brew Coffee (freshly brewed or store-bought)

Instructions
- Put the cream cheese, powdered sugar, and heavy whipping in a small bowl and whip until light and fluffy with a hand mixer or a whisk.
- Fill a 16-ounce glass with ice and pour in the cold brew coffee. There should be about an inch of space left in the glass.

- Top the drink with the Cocoa Puffs cereal. Gently press the cereal into the sweetened cream cheese foam so they don’t fall off.

Notes, Additions, and Substitutions
You can store leftover cream cheese foam in an air-tight container in the refrigerator for up to a week.
A popular substitute for cream cheese is mascarpone. It adds more sweetness and a slight buttery flavor.
If you do not have powdered sugar, you can use regular white sugar. For the best results, put the sugar in a clean spice grinder or food processor and pulse to create a finer powder.
As a substitute for heavy whipping cream, you can use 6 tablespoons of either milk or half-and-half and 2 tablespoons of melted and cooled butter.
While Cocoa Puffs is the most well-known brand, you can alternatively use any puffed chocolate cereal.
For a sweeter coffee drink, add vanilla syrup or simple syrup. One teaspoon will add a light sweetness, while a tablespoon will make the sweetness much more intense.
You can make your own simple syrup using equal parts water and sugar. Add them to a saucier or small sauce pot and bring to a boil for five minutes.
For homemade vanilla syrup, make the simple syrup as above and add two tablespoons of vanilla extract.
Alternatively, split two vanilla pods with a paring knife and scrape out the vanilla bean paste inside. Add the pods and the bean paste to the syrup. Remove the vanilla pods before using.
How To Make Spiked Cold Brew Black Caf
You can spike your Star Wars cold brew caf at home with Godiva Chocolate Liqueur or any chocolate liquor.
Follow the steps above to make your cold brewed caf with one slight change. After you fill your glass with ice, add one to two ounces of chocolate liqueur. One ounce makes a milder drink, while two ounces makes it stronger.
Add the cold brew coffee to the glass and gently stir to combine. Then, continue with the remaining steps to finish the drink.

Editors Note: We are passionate about caf – coffee – here at the Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge Discord. That’s why we’ve asked Landon Worsham, owner of the Orlando-based Cupa Coffee Roasting, to share his expertise in creating the best cold brew possible. Neither Cupa Coffee Roasting nor the SWGEDiscord were compensated, financially or with products or services, for this article.
Tips For Making the Best Cold Brew At Home
Store-bought cold brew is convenient, but it is usually expensive and doesn’t always taste the best. Thankfully, you can make your own for much less.
Landon Worsham of Cupa Coffee Roasting says that most commercial cold brews suffer from two main problems – flavor and age.
“Most brands use cheap coffee beans that don’t have much flavor, which is why they usually add sugar, extracts, creamers, or syrups.”
Not to mention that the flavor of coffee degrades over time.
“While a fresh bottle might taste great, even a few days on store shelves can leave them harsh and bitter.”
According to Landon, making your own cold brew is much easier than you think.
“Many people think making cold brew is complicated, but it’s actually ridiculously simple. All you really need is cold water, ground coffee, and a little time.”
Here are Landon’s tips for delicious homemade cold-brewed coffee:
- Brew in a stainless or glass container to minimize off-flavors. If you are starting out, a quart mason jar is perfect.
- For the best flavor, use freshly roasted coffee. Buy from a roaster you like and use the beans within two to three weeks.
- Grind your coffee just before brewing. You want a course grind that looks like kosher salt.
- Steep your coffee in the refrigerator for 24 hours. For a weaker coffee, shoot for 18 hours. If you prefer it stronger, use more coffee grounds.
- Strain the coffee grounds using a mesh strainer and paper coffee filter. Pouring through the mesh and the paper gets out virtually all of the grounds for a smooth, silky brew.
- Store it in the refrigerator and drink it within 10 to 14 days.
